I feel it is bigger than that. Parents not only allowed their kids to puddle splash but one of the parents went to join in. That helps reinforce the ‘even parents can have fun like us, we don’t have to be ridged when we are older’ idea. More importantly than all of that, something went horribly wrong and the reaction by the parent was laughing, instantly in fact. Those kinds of memories of how parents react to what everyone can agree was 1) something that went wrong 2) could have really hurt embeds in the kids memories as a way to react to big events that don’t end badly. There are a lot of parents who would have said ‘ok I fell, this is over we are moving on’ and acted angry or passive aggressive for the rest of the time.

People don’t realize how giant these moments are in children’s development.
